I take great pride in this university as everyday I wake up happy that I am an Eagle. Both of my parents went to this great institution of higher learning so that means that I was "literally" Eagle born and Eagle bred. As I continue my journey here at North Carolina Central University as a junior, I hope to remember the past and those who have paved the way, but I will also embrace the present, so that this university will continue to prosper in the future. Therefore I am... "SOARING ON THE LEGACY." |

"In two years I will be a Golden Eagle (Class of 1962). For the past year and a half I have had the honor and pleasure of co-chairing the NCCU Centennial Planning Committee, along with Dr. Arthrell Sanders (Class of 1953). What a remarkable journey this has been! We have learned so much about this remarkable institution and our appreciation for its mission and accomplishments. I hope all of you out there in Eagleland will join us at sometime during this year to help us celebrate North Carolina Central University. For both Dr. Sanders and myself this has been the most challenging and the most rewarding experience of our lives." |

I am so grateful to be a part of this University and its rich history. It was the best learning experience of my life and my thoughts often turn to NCCU. I walked in a little girl and walked out a young woman. Thank You NCCU!!!! |

NCCU has been through so many changes over the years. I am eager and excited to see this great institution grow! NCCU is already great, but our future is even greater. I appreciate and thoroughly enjoyed my experience at NCCU. I am proud to say that I am an EAGLE!! |

| I visited NC College back in the late 60's to see My uncle (George S.Nixon) and aunt (Barbara S. Nixon) who were professors on the campus. I decided to join the Eagle family in Jan. 77. I lived in Chidley hall through my first two years. I was involved in a number of campus organizations and met many people who would help me to shape my life's direction. I was fortunate to attend NCCU and I give credit for my career in human services to those days spent on the "the sloping hills". I always felt that I belonged and that I was a part of the community. I still come back to homecoming and have college friendships that continue to this day. I am proud to be an alumnus of NCCU. -Albert G. Nixon, Class of 1982 |
